My Philadelphia Rodeo Experience: Soul District Athletic Club at 8 Seconds
When I first heard that the 8 Seconds Rodeo was coming to Philadelphia, I knew Soul District Athletic Club had to be there. Rodeo isn’t just about the sport—it’s about culture, tradition, and community. As the owner, I wanted our presence to reflect that spirit, and I couldn’t have imagined a better way than by showing up as a vendor and sharing something meaningful with the crowd.
One of the most rewarding parts of the night was providing hats for attendees. For many, this was their very first rodeo. Watching someone put on a cowboy hat for the first time—seeing their face light up as they suddenly felt part of the tradition—was unforgettable. Kids tugged at the brims with excitement, families posed for photos, and even seasoned rodeo fans stopped by to share stories and smiles.
For me, it wasn’t just about selling or handing out hats. It was about creating a moment of belonging. The rodeo can feel larger than life, but something as simple as a hat can make someone feel like they’re not just watching—they’re part of it. That’s the kind of connection Soul District Athletic Club is built on: bringing people together, celebrating culture, and making sure no one feels like an outsider.
Philadelphia welcomed us with open arms, and I left feeling grateful—not just for the chance to represent Soul District, but for the chance to witness joy in its purest form. This experience reminded me why I started this journey in the first place: to build community, to celebrate heritage, and to create memories that last long after the arena lights go out.
Until the next ride,
